Future Projects

Updates:
We have been so busy since I last updated in March! I haven't forgotten the blog, it's been in the back of my mind but we've been so busy it's been impossible to update.

Where to start? Well, we now have 4 triple unit Ferret Nation cages: One in each upstairs bedroom, one in the kitchen and one in the living room. Each cage is connected to the others by tunneling. We have replaced all of the soft tunneling with hard tunneling. We have a ball pit in one of the cages, a rice bin dig box, a new playroom for the furkids, we put up the PVC slide.

Currently up on deck:
We need to finish building the feeding den when the boyfriend comes back from vacation. Basically, we are taking one of those large wheeled totes and connecting it to the bedroom cage via some tunneling and our special plates and dryer quick connect system. There will be a platform and some hooks in the den for us to put/hang raw meat on. We also have a second hole drilled into the tote that we can open and close with a dead cap that allows them in and out from the room floor if we want. The idea is to get them caching their meat in the tote or at least the cage and not on the floor. Nothing like stepping on a chicken heart on the floor first thing in the morning to start off your day. T_T

Further down the road:
  1. Finish the feeding den.
  2. Modify the foraging toy so that the ferrets can fit their snouts in to get at the treats.
  3. Create an elevator lift somewhere. (Because we can!)
  4. Create a fountain and pool cage/tank before summer gets here so the fuzzles can stay nice and cool. -Put off until 2013
  5. Install tunneling up to the loft.
  6. Install extra tunneling around the perimeter of each room- hallway, living room, bed rooms.
